Associate Professor Jane Turner BA (Hons), PGCE, MEd, CsciTeach
I taught in primary schools in Hertfordshire and London. I am co- founder of the Primary Science Quality Mark, based at the University of Hertfordshire where I am now an Expert Advisor for Primary Science. I have written and contributed to several primary and early years education publications and research projects including the ASE Guide to Science Enquiry, It’s Not Fair and am series editor for Snap Science published by Harper Collins. I am a strategic consultant to the Ogden Trust CPD programme and I chair the ASE Policy Group.
I have worked with the Dept for Education as Curriculum Advisor for Primary Science and also as a consultant to the BBC, Wellcome Trust, Learned Societies and industry on primary science assessment and curriculum. I was chair of the Learned Societies Primary Curriculum Advisory Group, a member of the advisory panel for the Education Endowment Foundation’s Primary Science Guidance Report, Immediate Past Chair of the Association for Science Education, a member of ASE Primary and Futures Committees and co-editor of ASE's Science Teacher Education journal.
