About me
Helen is a Senior Lecturer in the Initial Teacher Training team in the Faculty of Health, Education and Society and is currently the Module Leader for the science modules, lectures on the Research Practitioner module and has been the Module Leader in designing and delivering a brand new 30-credit Year 3 module in Expertise Teaching. She joined the University of Northampton in September 2019 after teaching for 16 years in primary education where she was also an Assistant Head and Governor of a large primary school in Buckinghamshire. Among many in-school projects, she led her school in implementing Restorative Justice Practices as a way to resolve conflicts.
Her research activities have recently included:
* How to support neurodiverse learners at university.
* Ways to enhance the teaching of LGBT+ in primary schools.
* Using Digital Learning Across Boundaries (DLAB) for transformative learning.
* The co-creation of training videos using IRIS Connect software.
* Researching how children use evaluation tools in well-being workshops run by the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT).
Helen has supervised undergraduate dissertations since she joined the University of Northampton and also teaches on the PGCE Programme.
